END OF YEAR 2024 MESSAGE
We have yet come to the end of another year 2024 and start the new year 2025. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the support you have rendered to the community throughout this year. Am thrilled at how well our community has evolved in the past 12 months with your help, your energy and your contributions. A lot has been achieved, yet still many plans are still in the pipeline.
We have celebrated together as a community, mourned together and supported each other in all ways, above all we still hold the gift of life. This togetherness and unity are the foundations of any stronger union. I pray this continues even much stronger in the New year. Each of us has made valuable contribution towards making our community an amazing one. It takes teamwork, communication, collaboration, trust and commitment to succeed as a group. We are not yet where we want to be, but we’re making steady progress.
This year we introduced the idea of shared responsibility where everyone is mandated to contribute to community events. It seems to work very well as it makes organizing and running community events and programs much easier. I thank you for supporting this initiative and we hope to continue making all necessary adjustments in moving our community forward.
On this note, I extend my sincere appreciation to all those that contributed, attended and helped out with all our programs throughout the year, the most recent being the Christmas party last weekend. The members of the executive committee, ladies who helped with the food, the men who served the drinks, the DJs, the entertainers more especially our children Brian Katabazi and Gabby Kyobe. It was indeed a holiday celebration and a terrific way to close the year.
As communicated earlier, our financial year began in October which means we’re all due to renew our membership. Please reach out to the Treasurers or any member of the executive committee with any questions. Your $50 annual membership is very instrumental in keeping our community afloat.
We are currently working on our annual calendar of events that will be posted in due course. If you have any dates that needs to be reserved for any private event, please let us know so we include it that way we avoid clashing since we all rely on the same members for our events.
As we end the year and start a new one, let us pride ourselves in our accomplishments and strive to make the New year better than the last. Let’s be grateful for the challenges overcome and seize the opportunities in the new year to make ourselves, our families, our friends, and our community even better.
Our community, Our children, Our future.
